The straight remote key houses an RF transmitter module (315MHz or 433MHz) for remote lock/unlock functions and a passive transponder chip (commonly 4C, 4D67, or 4D68 variants) for immobilizer authentication. Unlike smart keys, these remotes require deliberate button presses to operate—there is no passive proximity detection—and the metal blade must be physically inserted into the ignition cylinder to start the engine.
